Katie + Ian

This precious couple and I go waaaay back…. all the way back to my teaching days! They are so cool and fun, I’m incredibly happy that I count them as friends and not just as students now. They have one of the most inspiring love stories too! After a prank text, Katie and Ian dated, fell in love and got engaged all starting at age 15…and from afar I watched it all unfold (via social media)!

Getting to be a small part of them finally getting hitched was a huge honor because I knew they honored God throughout the entire course of their relationship. Nothing gives me greater joy than to work with flowers, share in the excitement and create a beautiful event for a couple that I know is putting Christ in the center of their relationship.

Katie showed me the most gorgeous inspiration image when we met for our consultation and I was super excited to work with the color palette. We used peonies, thistle, lavender roses, astrantia and dusty miller for a springy, pastel, laid-back look. We ended up calling it Whimsical Hipster… because they are the coolest and it is Denton, after all. 🙂

Take a look at the fun images below!

Morgan and I worked on the arbor pretty much in the dark…which still cracks me up. Head lamps are now a staple in our toolkit.

Grandma dancing in the chair gets me every time. Congratulations to the Harbers! You guys make my heart happy!

Lindsay + Drew

I met Lindsay through a sweet friend at the DIME store in Denton. Lindsay is a kick butt personal trainer and owns Optima Fitness Studio. When I met with her, she was so kind, sincere and adorable that I kinda wanted to be her florist…and her friend.

She wanted an elegant, all white color palette with lots of texture and touches of purple. She and Drew got married at First Presbyterian Church in Denton and had the reception at The Springs. Morgan and I could not get over the cool, retro architecture at the church. Seriously, so cool. The Springs had the perfect amount of country flair for the boot-wearing bride, but was also so classy for the black tie affair.

I enjoyed working with Jordan Blalock Photography and am so thankful for her images of the day. Along with her, videographer CinemaStory captured the magical day.

Is that not the cutest bridal party?! The boys with the flowers kill me. Such a good shot.

Thank you so much, Jordan, for the pictures and THANK YOU to Lindsay and Drew for letting Gathered be a part of your special day. We loved every minute.
